Which One is Not Like the Others?
Okay so...remember when I told you in my Must Have's for Summer 2011 post that I wanted to try the whole "one finger painted different" trend?
Well...I did it. Yes, admittedly, it's not very daring since I used clear polish on the rest of my nails and a sparkly polish on my "unique" nails but still...
I do really like it a lot. Especially my pointer finger on my right hand...weird the vibe it gives off. I'm really not sure how to explain it. I also love the way that the silver sparkle in my polish speaks to my silvery gray flower ring.
The pictures aren't the greatest so I apologize for that but hopefully you get the jist. I'm curious...have you tried this yet? It's just a little something fun for a trip outside the ordinary.

Must Have Item(s) for Summer 2011
Target's Merona Emeline Braided Flat Sandals
Awesome price @ $15 a pop...
I have them in Black...

and Pewter...
And I could KICK myself for not buying the rest of the colors...Coral...
Gold...
White...
And finally turquoise...
Should have bought stock in them.
Sold.Out.Everywhere.
And I know why...
Cause they're lovely.
They go with everything.
And they are comfy to boot...er...sandal...eh hem...
:)
I wear them every.single.day.
Truly essential. Truly must have item.
----------
My white watch by Geneva that I have gotten a compliment on literally every time I wear it out.
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/jewelry/watchesforwomen/womensfashion/PRD~715471/Geneva+SilverTone+Simulated+Crystal+White+Watch.jsp#
I love it because it's pretty.
And because I don't have to take my phone out of my bag every time I wanna know what time it is.
It's the little things...
----------
My Coach wristlet
...which I showed you yesterday...
Which holds all of my summer necessities minus all of the crap that weighs down my regular hunk of a bag---------
My aviators
Plus, when I wear them, I feel 'cool'.
;P
----------
My gray cardigan from Gap
Seen here...
And here...And those are just the times I took pictures of...
Love is not a strong word for a cardigan.
----------
Faux flower pins/clips
As seen here...
And here...Oh...and did you notice? I am wearing the gray cardigan...again.
P.S. I am also loving a good gray and yellow combo this summer...----------
Fluorescent Toe Nails.
Aloha Sunset by Lane Bryant
$6
This picture is not true to life AT ALL. So frustrating. I tried every light I could to get it right but...no.The color in that picture looks tame.
The actual color is anything but.
It glows in the dark. Sort of.
True story. One night in Arizona, I was waiting in line to leave a comedy show and I looked down at my feet to discover that my toe nails were, in fact, glowing.
Think fluorescent pink...
This picture may resemble the actual color slightly...without the sheen...
Here's what it's like...it's like watermelon on radiation therapy.Eh...whatever...just go get it.
Abi, if you're reading, there you go.
----------
Speaking of nail polish...
I haven't done this yet because quite frankly, I don't want to appear like I am trying too hard to be trendy but I am LOVING the one nail as a different color trend right now.
It's typically the ring finger and I LURVE it.
Honestly, it's something that I would do anyway...even if it wasn't trendy so I should just go for it.
In fact, I think I will...tonight.
♪♫ And we're never gonna survive...unless...we get a little crazy...♪♫
Source: Google----------
Gold jewelry
I never thought that I'd go for the gold again and yet here I am.
Sportin' some in AZ.
So...that is basically it, I think...though I am sure I'll think of something later on and wish I had written that down too.
It's THE WAY.
Hope that you enjoyed some of that useless knowledge...
:)
Now tell me...what are YOUR must have items for summer 2011???

Day Trip!
Okay...for some reason, I am having serious brain blockage on how to begin this post. Maybe I am worn out from my little jaunt today, I don't know. It was definitely tiring but so much fun!
Okay.
Lemme start by telling you that I've been inspired by my spring decorating post and have been itching to go SHOPPING! If you are saying to yourself, "What else is new?", shut up. :)
I spoke with my sister, Julie, last week and we decided to do a little day trip this week and head up to Lancaster County. Specifically The Flower & Craft Warehouse in Blue Ball, PA. Well, we started there and proceeded to visit a couple of other fun shopping spots. We also stopped for lunch and then ended up in St. Peter's Village to see the site's and take some pictures. We fancy ourselves photographers. ;)
Stop #1 The Flower and Craft Warehouse (Visit the link if you're interested!)
I'll just cut to the chase and show you what I got...I've got the brain block and all. By the way, I tried to keep the inspiration pieces from Pottery Barn close in mind...always a good idea for someone like me who is very much an impulse buyer. (I had to put back several items that I picked up on a whim - it helps to shop with my super practical sister ;))

As you can see, I scored some pretty cute items that fit within the realm of the look I am going for.
So, that was stop #1.
Stop #2 was a little less productive. Carson's in the Cornfields (Visit the link if you're interested!)
Here, I only picked up these 3 cute little eggs.
Stop #3. The Blue Snickel. They do not have a website, sorry!
This store is very VERY primitive and therefore, not my style at all. I think it's cute though. :) The only thing I got here was some potpourri.

I love stores with cute little handmade shopping bags. I don't like the winter theme since I am currently anti-winter but nevertheless:

As I said before, we went to lunch and then ended up in St. Peter's Village for a little sightseeing. It's so pretty there...despite the snow and ice...and bare branches...

I especially loved this message...as if we couldn't tell already by the beauty and sweetness of a day well spent and God's amazing creation...

Birdcage (nest was separate and the picture is shown below)

Box of eggs to use in my homemade nests

I am going to make my nests using this

And what's the point of having a nest without a bird?

For the love of all things hydrangea...

So, that was our wonderful day spent shopping in breathtakingly gorgeous Lancaster County. If you've never been there...GO. I suggest a day trip sometime in your near future. You may get caught in "traffic" behind a horse and buggy but it'll be worth it. I derive simple pleasure from the little things when I am there. Things like numerous pairs of black pants hanging on a single clothesline. If my computer wasn't being so annoyingly slow, I'd share more. I'd love to post some scenic pics of the countryside. It's precious.
If you have any questions about the decor items or shop info, let me know in the comments below. I'd be happy to answer them! I planned on being more detailed with this post but it's already taken me a couple of hours since the computer has been taking forever to upload anything. Sorry to those who were expecting more!
I'll leave you with this...Mommy and daughter princess mani's!

What a perfect way to end a perfect day.
XO,
J

Bullseye!
Yeah...you know it well. Don't pretend you don't.
Well...anyway, I know it well. It's my home away from home. Who needs a therapist when there's Target? Like I said to a friend of mine on Facebook today, I am pretty sure that whoever created Target and then thought of throwing a Starbucks into it for good measure? Yeah...I'm thinkin'...crown in heaven. Fo sho. I hope that's not blasphemous. I'm just saying. LOVE. I had a good excuse for going there today - a return! Some people get excited about returns cause it means money back...money saved. I was excited cause it meant more money to spend at...TARGET! Hooray! They really could have just given me a store credit. In fact, if I had a job where I actually got paid, they really could just make out the paycheck to...yeah, Target. Oy. I am NOT addicted. Shut up. Let's look at some of my current fav reasons why I like to shop Tar-jay...Tar-shay...Tar-zhay...what the heck ever...you know what I'm tryin' ta say.
Eh hem. Feast on these babies.
You all know how I love blacks and oranges and all things fall looking...this rug is purrrrty.
Ahhhhh...I LOVE their Smith & Hawken collection. Especially these copper planters...

...and this "woven basket with chalkboard"...
OH!!! If you know me, you know that I really don't like using the color blue in decor (I HATE IT...it hurts my eyes). HOWEVER, this new collection has totally thrown me for a loop and I am even considering...*gulp*...using it in my new master bedroom!
You can not tell how beautiful and rich this color blue is from the picture but just trust me...it's TO DIE. I am in LOVE. Also, I would not put it with a light blue wall color but rather a very beautiful WHITE. Which is also so not like me. Eek!
And because Nat wanted some sparkle, we picked this up as a fun topcoat...
It's Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear nail color in Strobe Light #200 (it's a clear polish with pinky sparkles in it - looks much prettier and lighter in person).
Also...are there any of you out there who will admit a strong like for the travel-sized section of Target? How cute are those little bottles of products?! I almost bought like a bajillion things but my daughter said to me, "Mom, you can't fit any more in your hands, you can't buy any more!". Good can come from forgetting to get a cart. ;)
I could post pictures upon pictures upon pictures here of everything I
covet
like. Ahhhhhh...but I shouldn't. I'm sure you catch my drift.
For all the love that is Target,
J

(See stair post) Well...aren't these plates ADOR???
One of the reasons why I really love Target; I bought this baby the other day...
Yeah...originally $69.99. I got it for $17.48. HELLO.
Today, I just bought a few little items...BUT...SUPER EXCITING never the less.
Here's what I got:
Ahhhhhhh! I love love LOVE this! It's Maybelline's FIT me foundation (I am #135 Creamy Natural). I put this on and...oh.my.word., it's great coverage without looking like I am wearing make-up (totally blends right into my skin). AND...AND AND AND...get this...I don't even feel like I am wearing make-up! Plus, it's SPF 18...which is okay. Holy Canoli. I am head (now a flawless one - eh hem) over heels. Also, it's $6.99. Who can beat that?!
Picked up it's little friend too...
I think that I will also pick up the concealer on my next trip. I don't know...I have a tendency to go a little overboard on these things. ;)
Natalie and I also wanted a new polish so I picked up this little number for $1.99 (if this works, so long OPI!) - the color is Easy Going #700 for anyone who's interested.

Up Up and Away!
Updo's are where it's at if you're looking for an easy trend to live by this spring and summer. And isn't it the perfect look for Mommy's on-the-go? Some of you may even be thinking..."Wow, I am in style and I didn't even know it. I throw my hair up and go all the time!" Well, good for you...this is your year! ;) Now you won't be considered lazy...you'll be considered trendy!
I am sporting a rather long do at the moment and I love wearing my hair up. I've been inspired to try to some twists on the updo by one of my fav beauty guru's on youtube; Alexandra @ HRH Collection. Click here to watch some of her videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/hrhcollection - she's a classic beauty who is not afraid to think outside of the proverbial box.
Here are some ideas for trendy new twists on a classic messy updo...

Kristen Bell
If that wasn't enough, click here for some more great updo options for spring...

Hope that you enjoyed this post! Here's to throwing your hair up in 5 seconds flat and looking like a trendy celeb...don't forget the big shades (as if you were trying to hide from the paparazzi) and Starbucks...
You girl...are ALL THE RAGE.
